How do I download .RIS files into Mendeley?

Modified on Fri, 9 May at 6:25 PM

You can download individual .RIS files from our platform and then the file can be uploaded into Mendeley using the following process. If you wish to download bulk citations, please see our guidance here.

Download the .RIS file from our platform, for example:

If you have downloaded the citation plug-in for Mendeley, you will able to load the RIS file directly into your citation manager; otherwise please save the file to your desktop/preferred folder.

In Mendeley:
  1. Login to Mendeley if you are not already.
  2. In your Mendeley library, click the "Add" button.
  3. Select "Import RIS (. ris)"
  4. Browse your computer's desktop for the file that you saved from the research database.
  5. Highlight and "Open" it to import the references into your Mendeley library.

If you need support with your Mendeley citation plug in or Reference Manager, please contact Mendeley directly: https://www.mendeley.com/guides
