This Referrer URL guide is designed to assist with setting up your Insight resources for Referrer URL authentication.
We can establish referring URL access from a URL which sits behind a firewall and is not otherwise visible to unauthorized users.
Steps for using referrer URL authentication:
- Create a private web page on your organisation website or intranet that is only accessible to your logged in members. This must be a https:// URL.
- Contact Emerald Support (support@emerald.com) with the Referrer URL where your library databases are published by copying the URL directly from your browser.
- Support will update your Emerald Insight account with your referring URL details and confirm back to you once this has been enabled.
- Publish a link to Emerald Insight on your secure page - you can either link to the main welcome page at www.emerald.com, or link directly to a journal homepage if preferred.
- Your members must login to your website then click on the links directly from your library web page to authenticate & access the resources.
